My girlie is 9 today. I don't even know where to begin when I think about how special this kid is. I've said it before here, I call her Corrie so often because I feel like she's my little partner in crime, just like Corrie was.
So, because I don't know what else to say about it, I'm going to go with the tried and true list.
Top 10 Things I Love About Alex:
- She will sneak off and do her homework without being told. I'll just find her in her room, knees up, plowing through her work.
- She loves dogs as much as I do and finds all the endearing things they do...endearing.
- Alex is amazingly compassionate. When there's a new kid in class, she's the first one to approach him or her.
- She takes it as it comes: "Oh you're atheist? I believe in God, but that's cool," "We're moving again? SWEET! Can I paint my new room orange?"
- She can keep a secret. Like I mean it - I think she'll take stuff to her grave.
- She's a great artist, she's good at math and science and she is one of the most athletic kids in her class. She is able to use both sides of her brain and her body...well.
- She eats sushi, onions, mushrooms, all sorts of seafood and meat. But she won't eat processed cheese. No way.
- She's gorgeous.
- She finds random funny things in movies and points them out to me and then they become my favorite parts too.
- She is fast becoming my favorite dinner date when I try new restaurants. Can't think of another person I'd rather go with.
Sweet.
